  • Returns & Exchanges
      1. Requirements:

      Please take into consideration that we accept qualifying returns but not exchanges. Refunds are issued once the returned products clear our inspection.

      1) An item is eligible for cancellation if:
      -you posted a Return request within 24 hours of payment and your order is still under “Pending” status (if your order is under “Queued for Shipment” status, please contact our customer service center) or
      -the order is delayed for more than 10 days since payment and you have not received any notification regarding the delay; or
      -the ordered item is out of stock.

      2) We accept return(s) if:
      -you are returning due to change of mind(on size, color, etc.)
      -you receive a product different from your order; or
      -you receive a defective product.

      **Return Instructions
      (1) Post a return request on our Return forum within 7 days of receipt. You are required to attach photos of the received product(s) and include the item code, order number, and reason for return.
      (2) A customer service representative will be in contact to assist you by email
      (3) Items returned must be in their original condition, which includes tags and any packaging. Please make sure to include a note of your order number, name, and user ID.

      *Please be advised that returns are accepted ONLY IF you followed the instructions above and your return request has been approved by our staff. Returns that are shipped to us without any prior consent are not accepted.

      *Please note that EVEN defective/incorrect item(s) must be returned with all of the tags and labels intact. The item(s) must be sent unworn and in the original packaging.

      *Please include all contents of the original package and free gifts (if applicable) in your return package.

      *Return shipping fees for faulty/wrong orders will be paid for or reimbursed. If the Cash-On-Delivery option is not available for your EMS shipment,
      scan the return receipt and either mail it with the item to return or post an image of it on the forum. The shipping fee will be refunded once the returned item has arrived.

      3) We do not accept return(s) if:

아름다움의 '차이'를 만드는 한남동 주택


서울의 핫 플레이스로 부상한 한남동의 북적거림을 살짝 비켜난 비탈진 골목 끝자락에 한복디자이너인 ‘차이’ 김영진 실장의 2층짜리 주택이 있다. 남과 다른 감각으로 부분 리모델링을 마치고 새 단장한 그의 공간을 들여다보았다.

직배래에 항아리 라인의 아름다운 한복으로 정평이 나 있는 맞춤한복 브랜드 ‘차이’. 차이의 대표 김영진 실장은 한남동의 2층 주택에서 그만의 뚜렷한 정체성을 가진 작품을 선보이고 있다. 그곳에 터를 잡은 지 벌써 10년째인데 1층은 쇼룸이자 작업공간으로, 2층은 주거공간으로 나누어 생활한다. 기성복을 다루는 그의 세컨드라인 ‘차이킴’이 유랑을 콘셉트로 하여 수시로 매장 위치를 바꾸는 것과는 다른 행보다. 겨울 한복판의 서늘한 기운이 감도는 마당을 지나 실내에 들어서자 따뜻한 조명과 클래식 음악이 묘한 편안함을 가져다준다. 오묘한 색감의 천과 각종 자료서적, 그의 심미안으로 엄선한 가구와 공예품 등이 어우러진 공간은 김영진 실장이 하루의 대부분을 보내는 곳이다. 얼마 전 긴 벽을 따라 수납력이 짱짱한 붙박이장을 짜 넣어 단장했다. 톡톡한 질감이 느껴지는 한지로 마감해 공간의 성격과도 어울리고 깔끔함이 그만이다. 생활과 일의 구분이 없어 불편함이 느껴지기도 하지만, 소리에 민감하고 바깥 외출을 하지 않는 날이 잦은 그가 편안하게 지낼 수 있는 건 주택이기 때문이라고. 김영진 실장은 집이란 사람 사는 느낌이 들어야 한다고 믿는다. 집 꾸미는 시간을 자주 갖진 못해도 해마다 1년 치 김치를 직접 담그는 이유도 그 때문이다.
“집을 꾸미거나 요리를 할 기회가 많진 않아요. 다만 김치 냄새가 나야 집이라는 느낌이 들어 제 손으로 김치를 종류별로 담아요. 그리고 내 몫을 했다고 1년 내내 생색도 내지요.”
고운 옷감을 다루는 김영진 실장과 김치의 묘한 조화를 떠올려보면 그는천상 결 고운 여자다.


옷을 짓듯 공간을 지으며 ‘차이’를 만든다


오래전부터 옷은 만든다는 단어보다 ‘짓다’라고 표현되어왔다. 그러고보니 밥도, 집도 모두 ‘짓는’ 대상이다. 사람이 살아가는 데 어느 것 하나 소홀할 수 없는 요소들이다. 무엇이든 잘 짓기 위해서는 공을 들여야 한다. 사람의 얼굴과 옷차림만 봐도 어떤 옷감을 꺼내어 어떻게 디자인하면 좋을지 한복의 모습이 절로 그려진다는 김영진 실장. 다양한 직업을 가졌던 이력을 통한 경험치와, 예리함을 동반한 세심한 눈썰미는 한복에만 국한되지 않는다. 한남동의 2층 주택에도 그만의 방
식이 반영된다. 유독 눈길을 끄는 건 오래된 물건들, 특히 우리나라 고유의 도자기나 공예품, 그림이 많다. 한국적이며 의미를 가진 소품을아끼는 김영진 실장은 낡은 물건을 보석처럼 바꾸는 재주를 가졌다.
무엇이든 버려지는 게 싫어서 고쳐 쓰거나 다른 용도로 활용한다는그만의 톡톡 튀는 감각이 공간 곳곳에서 보인다. 자개장이 그렇다. 누군가에겐 쓰임의 소명을 다하고 버려진 자개장을 주워 와 문짝을 떼어 선반으로 활용한다거나, 작가의 자개 테이블 아래 메탈 프레임을 덧대어 입식 스타일로 배치하는 식이다. 똑같은 물건이라도 그의 품에서는 다르게 해석되며 가치가 입혀진다. 아마도 타고난 감각과 새로운 시각을 가진 그이기 때문일 것이다. 또한 본질을 잘 알기 때문에 가능한 일이기도 하다. 김영진 실장이 한복의 전통을 꿰뚫고 이해하고 있기에 자신만의 색깔을 덧대고 변화를 추구할 수 있듯이 말이다.
공간이든 옷이든 남들과 다른 아름다움의 간극을 만들어가는 김영진실장. 개성을 부르짖지만 정작 거리에는 같은 얼굴과 같은 브랜드, 같은 생각의 사람들이 활보하는 요즘, 그의 브랜드 콘셉트처럼 ‘차이(差異)’를 만들 줄 아는 김영진 실장의 남다름이 돋보인다.
한남동의 2층 주택은 봄에 유독 아름답다고 한다. 김영진 실장은 한복을 지으며, 공간을 지으며 매화와 살구꽃이 만개할 그때를 기다린다.
