      - Customs and Duties

      The recipient will be held responsible for international shipments which may be subject to import duties and taxes. Please be advised that these charges are levied by the destination country and we do not have control over them. In the case that the recipient refuses to receive the parcel, the order will be returned to Korea and will not be re-shipped. Relevant expenses (round-trip shipping, customs, etc.) will be deducted from the refund.
  • Returns & Exchanges
      1. Requirements:

      Please take into consideration that we accept qualifying returns but not exchanges. Refunds are issued once the returned products clear our inspection.

      1) An item is eligible for cancellation if:
      -you posted a Return request within 24 hours of payment and your order is still under “Pending” status (if your order is under “Queued for Shipment” status, please contact our customer service center) or
      -the order is delayed for more than 10 days since payment and you have not received any notification regarding the delay; or
      -the ordered item is out of stock.

      2) We accept return(s) if:
      -you are returning due to change of mind(on size, color, etc.)
      -you receive a product different from your order; or
      -you receive a defective product.

      **Return Instructions
      (1) Post a return request on our Return forum within 7 days of receipt. You are required to attach photos of the received product(s) and include the item code, order number, and reason for return.
      (2) A customer service representative will be in contact to assist you by email
      (3) Items returned must be in their original condition, which includes tags and any packaging. Please make sure to include a note of your order number, name, and user ID.

      *Please be advised that returns are accepted ONLY IF you followed the instructions above and your return request has been approved by our staff. Returns that are shipped to us without any prior consent are not accepted.

      *Please note that EVEN defective/incorrect item(s) must be returned with all of the tags and labels intact. The item(s) must be sent unworn and in the original packaging.

      *Please include all contents of the original package and free gifts (if applicable) in your return package.

      *Return shipping fees for faulty/wrong orders will be paid for or reimbursed. If the Cash-On-Delivery option is not available for your EMS shipment,
      scan the return receipt and either mail it with the item to return or post an image of it on the forum. The shipping fee will be refunded once the returned item has arrived.

      3) We do not accept return(s) if:
      -you are returning shoes, bags, or any other accessories
      -the products are damaged due to customer mishandling

1943년 경성의 기생학교를 배경으로 하는 <해어화>는 각양각색 한복을 원 없이 볼 수 있는 영화다. 산뜻하고 곱다가도, 중후하고 관능적으로 스크린을 수놓는 영화 속 한복을 디자인한 이는 김영진 한복 디자이너. 그녀의 브랜드 ‘차이킴’이 지향하는 한복과 <해어화>의 한복은 “젊고 관능적이라는” 공통분모가 있었다. 고정된 이미지를 넘어선 한복을 지향하는 그녀에게 1940년대는 흥미로운 시대였다. “전통과 서양식 복식이 공존하고 충돌하는 낭만적인 시대다. 전통 소재뿐 아니라 오간자, 실크, 모직, 레이스 등 다양한 소재들을 활용했다.”
그녀는 의상이 영화의 강력한 이미지라고 믿는다. “<화양연화>를 보면 의상에서 영화가 바로 연상되지 않나. 고전 <마이 페어 레이디>를 지금까지 떠올리는 것도 오드리 헵번과 그녀가 입었던 의상의 힘이다.” 그녀는 <해어화> 역시 그런 작품이었으면 했다. “한복이 캐릭터의 감정을 잘 전달할 수 있는 감성적인 의복이라는 걸 보여주고 싶었다. 소율(한효주)에게서는 처절하게 확 피었다가 져버리는 모란이 연상되더라. 인물의 욕망을 표현하기 위해 후반부에선 검고 붉은 색상과 화려한 레이스 등을 활용했다. 반면 연희(천우희)는 산과 들에 핀 소박한 도라지꽃이 생각났다. 리넨과 모시 소재를 사용했고 패턴도 잔잔하게 표현했다.” 권번의 선생 산월(장영남)의 의상은 한국의 1세대 여성 문인 고 전숙희 작가가 실제 입었던 옷을 활용하기도 했다.
영화 속 의상의 역할을 정확히 이해하는 그녀는 연희단거리패의 배우 출신이다. “어릴 때부터 연극을 사랑해 공연예술아카데미에 들어갔다. 이윤택 연출가의 특강을 듣고 한국적인 미학에 눈을 떠 연희단거리패에 들어갔고, 연기도 하고 의상도 직접 만들었다.” 이후 패션계에 입문한 그녀는 루이비통의 슈퍼바이저로 10년을 근무했지만 한국적인 것에 대한 사랑은 계속됐다. 서울시 무형문화재 침선장 박선영 선생에게 침선을 배운 그녀는 한복을 패셔너블하게 풀어보고 싶은 마음에 브랜드 차이킴을 만들었다. 그녀의 이색적 경력은 “다름을 인정하고 상생하는” 차이킴의 정체성을 만들었고, “경계를 넘나들며 한계를 극복하는” 작업은 그녀를 영화의 의상 작업으로 이끌었다. <조선마술사>를 시작으로 <해어화>의 한복 디자인을 맡게 된 그녀는 앞으로도 영화 작업에 뜻이 있다. “조선시대에 한정된 한복에서 벗어나 그 이전인 고려시대, 신라시대 등을 배경으로 상상력을 발휘할 수 있는 다양한 작업을 해보고 싶다.” 한복으로 펼쳐낼 그녀의 상상은 스크린에서도 계속될 것이다.
